Sheet metal handling – Easier with magnets

In the manufacturing industry, large amounts of material are handled and in many cases it is an important part of the manufacturing and warehousing process. In addition, it can be costly if the handling is not carried out correctly or efficiently enough.

In the sheet metal industry, sheet metal is handled in many different ways, usually depending on how it is delivered and what shape it has. When sheet metal is delivered in large sheets from the supplier to the sheet metal processor, the sheets are usually oiled to avoid damage to the material. However, this causes certain handling problems for those who unpack and then process the sheet metal. Sometimes the sheets "glue" together and injuries can easily occur to fingers and hands when these are then separated.

HYAB's steel sheet separators have been supplied to sheet metal processors and other companies for decades to easily separate metal sheets and facilitate handling in factories and workshops. By manipulating the magnetic fields, the metal sheets are automatically separated, freeing up space for a processor to lift one sheet at a time.
