Recycling of magnets

HYAB Magneter is an environmentally conscious company, and several of our products are core components in the green transition that is taking place in many industries. In the automotive industry, for example, magnets are an integral part of the development of electric vehicles, something we wrote about last winter.
We were also recently awarded ISO 14001:2015 environmental certification, which means that our operations are characterized by both short- and long-term environmental awareness. This is something we are very proud of, and a large part of our sustainability initiative is that we manage the waste generated by our operations. Magnets are a collective term for several different types of rare earth metals, but as we know, they have properties that make them difficult to handle. So how are magnets recycled correctly?
Larger quantities of magnets, which HYAB's operations generate over time, are sorted as scrap metal. However, extensive work is underway to enable the effective recycling of various magnetic materials. According to Stena Recycling, continued development in the recycling of neodymium could create an alternative supply chain to the extraction of the raw material. This would be good for both the environment and industries that utilize different types of magnets.
