Fishing is a popular activity in Sweden, practised on most of our lakes and coastlines. There are usually various kinds of fish at the end of the line, but did you know that magnet fishing is a popular activity that has grown in interest recently?

Magnet fishing is exactly what it sounds like: fishing with a magnet. Unlike more traditional fishing, the catch on the other end of the line is instead objects that consist of, or contain, parts that are made of metal that are susceptible to magnetism. This is a fun activity for curious and exploratory people, and is especially popular in lakes and streams that run through cities or other inhabited areas. Common catches include bicycles and other everyday objects such as tools, but if you are lucky, old swords and other historical objects may be attracted to the magnet.

Another use for HYAB's fishing magnets is as a picking tool. They work great if tools or other objects are dropped into a well or other hard-to-reach place. The magnet is lowered to the spot where the tool was dropped and picks it up using magnetism.
