This bench is very suitable for demagnetizing of plates and metallic pieces of medium size.
You use this bench by sliding the metal from right to left, with a controlling speed adapted to the size of the object (larger
metal, slower movement). The movement causes the metal to be exposed to alternative magnetic fields, which destroys the
remnants of magnetism in the object. Metal with a thickness over 30mm is not recommended for this article.
It is important to know the shape, the chemical composition (specifically what type of metallic material) and the surface
treatment of the material you are supposed to demagnetize. This is because in some cases the residual magnetism can be
difficult to remove depending on these factors.
To find the right article for you, you should know how much residual magnetism (in Gauss or Tesla) you accept to remain in
the material after demagnetization. This can be complicated for many because they lack the tools to retrieve this data. At Hyab
we sell the necessary instruments to measure magnetic fields. See our category "measuring equipment" for all our so-called
Gauss/Teslameter.
