Holding magnet / Samarium cobalt
No thread rod brass
A samarium cobalt -magnet in a tall brass housing. This magnetserie has an outer diameter with h6 tolerance according to ISO 286-2.
The A marking on the drawing is the maximum distance the article can be cut or machined without damaging the magnet or function.
The brass body’s function:
Since brass doesnt lead magnetism, we can with help of a magnetic method make this product stronger. Up to 100% stronger than a regular designed holding magnet matter in fact.
All our holding magnets with a brass body uses this construction of magnets.
One disadvantage is however that the magnetic field can ”leak”. This means that if this article is to be pushed in to a tight tolerance with magnetically conductive iron hugging it, the holding magnet will lose up to 15% of the force because of magnetic field -leakage onto that iron.
The attribute ”Distance [mm]” specified in the attributes will tell you how many millimeter the magnetic field is leaking and what distance the holding magnet should keep from other magnetic leading metal, if those 15% matters much to you.
Force
The stated forces have been determined at room temperature on a plate in polished steel (S235JR according to DIN 10 025) with a thickness of 10 mm (1kg ~ 10N). A maximum deviation of -10% compared to the specified value is possible in exceptional cases. Value is exceeded in general. Depending on the type of application (installation situation, temperatures, counter anchor etc.) the forces can be influenced enormously. The indicated values are serving as an orientation.
